This server feels like a big fantasy story mixed with machines and magic. It is called Spells Gears n Bells and it is about roleplay in a magitech steampunk style world. You make your own character and you step into the land of Mystodia.
The world has a brand new map and the border is still small so everyone is starting fresh. There are lots of mods like Create and other magic and adventure mods so the gameplay feels really custom and different. You can go explore strange places and learn about the rifts and meet other survivors.
There are a bunch of ways to customize your character like Customizable Player Models Origins style powers and using transmog to change how your gear looks. The whole point is to help shape the future of Mystodia with your own story and play your role in a big shared tale.
The community is queer friendly and has a strong rule against bigotry. It feels focused on respect and working together. If you like fantasy adventure and roleplay with magic machines and story building this server is made for that.

VitaNova is a new semi vanilla SMP server that just opened and feels really fresh. The world is custom and a lot of it is still untouched so there is a ton of space to explore and build your own base.
The server uses some plugins that make normal survival more fun without making it super complicated. There is a fishing plugin called PyroFish that adds special fish with different rarities and there are fishing tournaments where players compete. There is also a Lands plugin so you can claim land and keep your builds and loot safe from people who try to steal.
There is an economy with AuctionHouse and Jobs so you can earn money just by playing and then trade or sell stuff to other players. You can also open easily obtainable crates that give you extra boosts to your progress.
The community is growing and the vibe is about building a place where everyone feels welcome. The server is on version 1.21 and there are free items you can claim for the launch by using the calendar command until the end of January.

This is a small semi vanilla Java SMP called SKOG Smp. It runs on version 1.20.1 and it feels like a chill place to just play survival with other people.
The server uses some quality of life plugins but nothing that really changes the main gameplay. It still feels like normal Minecraft survival. There is no pay to win stuff at all. The staff is active and they use community polls so players can help decide things.
The community is friendly and small but wants to grow. They are looking for casual and long term players who want a relaxed SMP to call home. You can build explore and survive together without a lot of pressure.

This is a new survival server that already feels pretty active. It has an economy with jobs and player shops so you can make money and trade with other players.

This is a prisons server that is all about space and grinding but trying to feel new at the same time. It is made for players who like normal prison mines and ranks and prestiges and a big economy but still want something different.
The main thing here is the space theme. You mine and rank up like classic prisons but the whole setting is built around space. It is meant to feel fresh and competitive while still keeping the normal prison style that people already know.
There are custom interactive puzzles so it is not only mining in a straight line all day. You can think a little and solve stuff while you play. You can also team up using cells which are basically gangs. With your cell you try to climb to the top of the leaderboard together.
The server has raids where you join up with other players and fight custom coded bosses. So it is not just pvp or mining. You actually work together and try to beat these big fights for rewards.
There are seasonal buycraft payouts which means every season the best players can win buycraft prizes. So the server feels more competitive and people try hard to get higher on the prison ladder.
Right now it is in Beta 3.0 and it released on 01 17 2026. It is still the normal prison experience at the core but the owners are trying to make it feel unique and fun so you do not get bored of the same old grind.
