    Crown SMP is a new Java server for 1.21.8+ that mixes chill survival with PvP you can choose. In the survival world you can toggle PvP so you do not have to fight if you do not want to.

    There is also a PvP world where combat is forced so it feels more risky. The server uses land claims so you can protect your builds and unclaimed areas are fair game.

    It has a massive quest system with over 10000 quests so you can explore and grind and progress at your own pace. There are jobs to earn money from stuff like mining farming and building plus leveling and prestiges for long term goals.

    The economy is meant to be balanced with player chest shops and trading plus server shops that are tuned. Extra stuff includes a mob arena custom enchants redstone powered flight that uses fuel and cosmetic focused rewards. There are custom worlds including survival and a PvP arena world.

    I found a medieval themed modded server for Java 1.12.2 where the main idea is building kingdoms and fighting wars.

    The big mod focus lets players make NPC soldiers and workers and you can also use siege machines like catapults to attack fortresses. Wars are long term and sometimes lead to big battles with lots of NPCs and a final fight at an enemy capitol.

    There is claim protection most of the time but it gets disabled during a siege for wars. The server has some lore and rp going on with a backstory posted in their community but roleplay is not required.

    It is not only war since there are building mods and lots of PvE too. You can find structures and bosses and they also plan PvE events sometimes.     I found EchelonMC and it is a hand built survival server on 1.21.1 that is made to last. It has been developed for about 2 months and it is hosted in Canada. The owner Eddy builds it based on player suggestions and they say over 100 suggestions are already in.

    This server is trying to feel different from recycled SMPs. There is no pay to win and there are no main world resets planned. It is not a copy paste plugin pack style either and the focus is long term building real progression and a strong community. It also is not griefing focused.

    You can earn Echelites currency just by playing like mining farming fishing exploring and building. There is also advanced land claiming with visual borders plus lots of settings like TNT and creeper control fire spread protection raid prevention fluid freeze mob spawn control and more.

    There are teams so you can invite friends share access and use private team chat. There is auto pathing that makes paths under you and gives speed on them and you can toggle it. There are public builds you can list so people can visit vote and climb rankings. There are timed graves so your items are protected and you can recover them in a balanced way.
