Ancient Echoes is a whitelist SMP for people 18 and up and it is all about a world that feels alive. Players build together and hang out in voice and they run real community events instead of just grinding loot.
The server is on Minecraft 1.21.11 and they just did a huge push where the End island got fully cleared. Now everyone is starting a big gothic End city build on that empty space.
There are spawn decorations for Lunar New Year and it ends with a community event and a fireworks show. They also have a newer Nether highway and a portal network to make traveling easier.
They use a datapack setup like Hermitcraft for custom textures and models. You can see things like plushies hats pokemon figurines and trading cards as they add more.
They are super strict about being fair. No pay to win no paid cosmetics no donor perks and no special rewards. Event fights and events do not give out items that you cannot get in survival.

The big thing is it is no hack. Cheating and xray even with resource packs are not allowed. You also cannot exploit server vulnerabilities crash the server or lag it on purpose. CaliCraft is a player run Minecraft server where the community shapes what happens. Every two weeks players elect an Emperor and that person can actually change the server. They can add or remove plugins across any gamemode make laws and even imprison people including staff.
If you get marked as a fugitive you can end up spawning in prison when you die. You can also get dragged in handcuffs if you get caught. The Emperor has to follow a Constitution but they can make temporary laws during their reign. Some laws can become permanent through a 3 day Discord poll.
There is a lobby first and it helps you jump into different gamemodes fast. The server supports versions 1.17.1 to 1.21.10 and it supports both Java and Bedrock.
The gamemodes include Modded Survival with custom enchantments skills jobs an auction house an economy custom dungeons and vote crates with epic gear.
