Anarchy Network is a semi anarchy Minecraft server that tries to feel like pure survival. It started on October 11th 2024 and it runs all day and night.
The server is made to feel close to vanilla. There are barely any rules and barely any extra commands. There are no map resets no teleporting and no pay to win stuff. Griefing is allowed and PvP is allowed so you are never really safe.
You can join on almost any Java version from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10. They recommend using 1.21.10 so things do not break. The world border is set to 2 million blocks so there is a lot of space to travel and build.
The only special command you get is spawn so if you go really far away you can still come back to other players. Nether roof access is allowed phantoms are removed and only half the players online have to sleep to skip the night.
The main rules are about keeping the server stable and not horrible. Exploits lag machines duping and spamming are not allowed. Harassment and racial slurs in chat are also not allowed. Everything else is mostly up to the players so the world can get pretty wild.

MistyMC is a long term 100 percent vanilla SMP that has been running for around 6 months. The world is no reset so your builds and progress are meant to stay.

I found a server where the main thing is a fully custom Warzone that kicks in when you go past radius 50 from spawn. They say it is all coded from scratch as one plugin with procedural generation.
Once you cross in the sky locks to permanent midnight even if it is daytime somewhere else. The ground looks wrecked with craters obsidian spikes bone monuments with chains volcanic ash dead forests with cobwebs and magma veins splitting the earth. You also get soul colored particles and you hear creepy stuff like explosions whispers and Sculk Shrieker sounds. Sometimes red nametags show up then vanish.
Deaths matter too. If you die in the Warzone your spot gets a permanent glowing red stain and a Soul Echo that looks like a floating head. You can harvest it for souls but it tells everyone your coordinates.
Meteors can crash down with loot chests and some are Cursed. The Cursed ones give huge loot but you get Glowing for a long time and your coordinates keep getting broadcast so people will hunt you.
There is a roaming Blood Fog and if you step inside your screen goes almost fully black. If you have a lot of hearts and sprint an invisible Heart Seeker can follow you and it sounds like Warden breathing right behind you. The Warzone also has random lightning ground fog and when it rains orange embers fall from the sky.

Skybound Realms is a semi vanilla server where you build up your own island and try to turn it into something huge. It feels like a mix of grinding and showing off because you can upgrade and expand your island over time.
The server has an auction house so players can buy and sell with each other. There is also a custom shop system with a balanced economy and it uses two currencies with gems and regular money.
If you like side grinds there is a custom fishing area with over 140 custom fish to catch. There are crates with big rewards and rare loot plus a custom mine for faster grinding.
PvP is part of the experience so you can prove yourself against other players. The server is still being updated and dungeons are coming soon.
