It supports cross play for Java and Bedrock so more friends can join together. The server has claims and you can toggle pvp. There are quality of life things like teleporting to other players and having multiple homes plus nightvision.
The server recently moved to new high performance hardware so it runs smooth. There is a custom resource world plus a nether resource world so gathering stuff does not wreck the main builds. They also run consistent events and they do End events for new players.

Moshpit SMP is a competitive survival server with an economy and a lot of action. It is made for people who want competition and new stuff instead of the same old routine.
There are no land claims so you can build anywhere and raids can happen anywhere too. That makes the world feel risky and exciting.
It supports both Java and Bedrock. There are player shops plus an auction house and duels if you want fast money.
It also has custom enchants that are meant to be balanced like 3×3 drills and lifesteal. The terrain is custom but still feels like normal Minecraft.
The server is tested to run fine even on low end PCs. PvE gets harder the farther out you go and there are random world events every 30 minutes that can help or mess things up. I found a small Minecraft server called the Island Kingdom of Aloria and it is set on two big volcanic islands with a worn tropical beach village vibe.
People build villages together and it feels like everyone is doing their own thing but still connected. There are already a few villages plus some small businesses.
It stays simple with no heavy plugins and no world guard. The main extra thing is an economy plugin so trading and running shops feels more interesting.
It has a bit of roleplay feeling but nothing strict. One player is working on island infrastructure and a railway called the Iron Spine Project to link areas up.

I found Riot Block MC and it is a prison server where you start with nothing and have to grind your way up.

Stormy Lagoon is a long term survival multiplayer server that lets Java and Bedrock players play together. It is meant to feel fair and balanced and it does not do pay to win since ranks and perks are earned in game.
The server has custom Stormy Items with tools weapons and armor that can level up and get abilities. There are daily missions with three tasks each day and weekly challenges where you compete against everyone for Pearls. Pearls also tie into milestones and a shop where you can spend what you earn on perks ranks cosmetics and more. You can also rank up just by playtime.
Progression includes mcMMO style skill leveling for stuff like combat mining and fishing. The economy is player driven so people can buy sell and trade. There are yearly resource worlds so the main world does not get wrecked and there is an RTP menu that can send you across five worlds.
