RuneCraft is a new Minecraft server that is opening soon and it is all about nations and big politics style gameplay.
The world has a big map with lots of different nations. You can join a nation that already exists or you can try to make your own and see if people follow you. It feels like a world where players run their own governments and go to war or make peace.
The server is adding custom plugins so it does not feel like normal vanilla. One of the cool features is a taxi system that takes you around the map so it is easier to travel between places and nations.
If you like the idea of running a country planning invasions or defending your land this server is made for that kind of play. It looks like it will be fun for groups of friends who want to build something big together or fight in huge nation battles.

Kronos SMP is a full earth server on a 1 to 500 scale and the world is totally fresh. There are no old empires or stacked nations or ruined land. Everyone starts together in an empty world.
You pick a real place on the map. You claim it. You defend it. Or you try to take land from other players. It feels like a mix of survival and strategy and pvp at the same time.
The server is about turning small groups into nations. People care about geopolitics more than grinding. There is diplomacy alliances wars and a lot of backstabbing. Power comes from your land and your people not from kits.
Wars actually change borders. Territory can switch hands so nothing is just cosmetic. The economy is player run and admins do not play favorites and there is no pay to win.
This server is for players who like planning more than just casual play. It is for people who enjoy maps and world drama and leading or scheming or going to war at 3am. If you just want a chill smp this is probably not for you.
It runs on Java Edition and version 1.20.1 and the host is very strong so lots of players can be on without lag. When the map opens it is every person for themselves.

SurvivalMC is a semi vanilla SMP that tries to feel like normal Minecraft but a bit smoother. It runs on Minecraft 1.21.10 for both Java and Bedrock so lots of people can join.
From what I saw the server adds quality of life plugins and datapacks that do not ruin the normal survival feeling. The goal is to make gameplay better without turning it into a crazy modpack.
The community looks pretty active and friendly. They have a big discord with hundreds of members and the staff team is very active and ready to help players.
The server has been around since July 21st 2020 and they say it is lag free and focused on giving a nice survival experience. They are also celebrating a grand reopening after taking a break to improve things.
They use a plugin called Bluemap so you can check out the world map from the web and see all the builds from above.

Spugunke is a new SMP that is all about community and long term survival. The server just started so early players get to help shape the world and set the tone for how the community grows.
The main focus is on player made towns and teams. You can build shared bases farms and big projects or join groups that focus on pvp exploration or grinding resources. You can also play solo if you want. Both competitive and relaxed playstyles are welcome.
The rules are relaxed but still fair. Griefing stealing and random killing are not allowed. Pvp is only allowed when everyone agrees so fights are more like planned battles or friendly duels. Town or team wars can happen but only if both sides want it.
Spawn is meant to be a real community area not just a place you pass through once. Players can build there and hang out and it is supposed to feel like a shared hub for everyone.
The server supports full crossplay between Java and Bedrock so friends on different platforms can play together. It uses simple vanilla style plugins like tpa sethome spawn and CoreProtect plus Discord integration to keep things organized while staying close to normal survival.

This server is called CaveMC and it is on Season 2 right now. The whole overworld is underground so there is no normal surface at all. Everywhere you go you are in huge caves with different biomes resources and structures.
The server is semi anarchy so survival is really hard and players have a lot of freedom. It feels like enhanced vanilla because it stays close to normal Minecraft but has custom world generation made by real Minecraft developers. Only the most clever players will do well here.
They are also opening something new called the Wasteland Dimension. It is like a giant expansion with its own custom generated map. In the Wasteland you can find new powerful gear mega structures and special secrets. It even has its own currency and a new economy so trading there is different from the rest of the server.
There is a new spawn for the Wasteland that sets up the style of the dimension and the whole place is designed to be challenging and interesting. If you like dangerous caves hard survival and exploring huge custom areas this server is made for that.
