I found a Minecraft SMP called The Rift SMP.
The post was super simple and it looks like a straight up join and play type of server. If you want an SMP place to hop in and see what is going on this is basically that.
I found a chill long term SMP that is meant for people who want to play at their own pace and just build and survive.
They say the world has no resets so you can stick around and keep your progress. The community is supposed to be active and relaxed with no griefers and no drama.
There is a simple economy plus voice chat. PvP is optional since there is a toggle. It also has a Bedrock port for people who want to join that way.
CaliCraft is a player run Minecraft server based out of California where you can actually shape what happens. Every two weeks players elect an Emperor and this role has real power over the server. They can change plugins make laws and even imprison people for basically any reason. If you get marked as a fugitive you can end up spawning in prison when you die or get dragged back in handcuffs if you get caught.
The Emperor still has to follow a Constitution but they can add temporary laws during their reign. If players vote in a Discord poll for 3 days a law can become permanent so the server can change over time.
There is a lobby first and it gets you into the different gamemodes fast. Modded Survival has custom enchantments skills jobs an auction house an economy custom dungeons and vote crates with strong gear. It is also a claim world and it has a kingdom that the Emperor runs.
Vanilla Survival has quests chest sorting and daily rewards for more chill play. There is also Skyblock with some extra addons.
The server supports Java and Bedrock cross play and it supports versions 1.17.1 to 1.21.10. It also uses a custom resource pack with unique mobs animals elites and dungeon bosses with special drops so it feels like you need to come prepared.
This is a medieval fantasy roleplay server where the world feels alive and players push the story forward. The lore is mostly driven by players and staff only guides it a little so it stays on track.
You can build towns and try to rule cities. You can make alliances or start wars if that is what your group wants. Borders can shift and the world reacts to what people do so it does not feel stuck.
It also has proximity voice chat so roleplay feels way more real. You can play as different fantasy races like High Elves Dark Elves Dwarves Cyclopes Automatons and more. Your actions matter here and you can become part of the world history.

People can create nations and build up real civilizations from nothing. You can team up with others or make rivals and try to control land.
Wars are a huge part of it. You can conquer territory defend allies and fight for dominance.
There is also an economy vibe where players trade and use taxes to grow stronger. The server supports Java and Bedrock crossplay so more people can play together.
